NHS, Social Care and Frontline Workers’ Day 2021

5th July 2021

The first NHS, Social Care and Frontline Workers’ Day, on 5 July 2021, is an opportunity to show our appreciation to all key workers on the frontline during the Covid-19 pandemic, who are working tirelessly to keep us safe and the world functioning. It is also a day to remember those who have sadly lost their lives.

Northumbria University would like to thank all its staff and students for their hard work and resilience throughout the pandemic, which has kept our campuses safe and enabled the continuation of learning and teaching.

The University is thanking everyone who has supported the NHS in hospitals, testing sites and vaccination centres; to those who have provided wellbeing support to students; and everyone who has kept the University campuses running.

Please join us in celebrating the NHS, key workers and the Northumbria University community for all they have done.

As part of Universities UK #GettingResults campaign, Northumbria has been highlighting the vital role it is playing in the social and economic recovery from Covid-19. Through incredible research into Covid-19, producing much needed PPE, and assisting businesses in managing the devastating effects of the pandemic, Northumbria is helping to build back better.
