Kate Harland

Graduate Tutor

Department: Newcastle Business School

Kate is a passionate hospitality and tourism early career academic with industry experience. Graduating from Northumbria University in Travel and Tourism Management in 2006 led to a 13 year career in hospitality within both large-scale chain and independent hotels. Her experience in hotels, events management and sales informs teaching on both the Tourism and Event Management and Business with Tourism programmes.

As a member of the Education and Training Committee for the Institute of Travel and Tourism, Kate actively works on the promotion of graduate employment opportunities within the tourism industry. Organising the annual Newcastle ITT Future You Roadshow is one of the highlights of the role which allows students to connect with businesses, bridging the gap between academia and industry.
