HEA Fellowship Recognition

There are over 200,000 Advance HE Fellows worldwide. Via Northumbria University’s Professional Recognition Scheme (NUPRS) we support colleagues to obtain Professional Recognition (Fellowship) via Advance HE for their education practices and/or their activity to support learning.

NUPRS asks colleagues to reflect on activities they are already engaged in, the Professional Values and Core Knowledge that underpin these activities, and to benchmark their practice against a set of standards. Accredited by Advance HE, NUPRS provides two routes to support colleagues in obtaining professional recognition:

  • PGCAP is our taught route, predominantly for new academic colleagues with less than 2 years experience of teaching and/or supporting learning.
  • NUPRS experiential route is for academic colleagues with more than two years experience, professional service and technical colleagues and postgraduate researchers who teach and/or support learning. It is also available to colleagues at Partner institutions.
