Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I knew it was a good university, and it was local which meant I could keep my part time job and not stress about money problems.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

It's one of the best cities in the UK (biased of course); there's so much to do day and night, and everything is in a distance of 20 mins max.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

The amount of events Newcastle puts on for its people and the things you can get involved with.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

I found it easy to fit in and very welcoming. They set you up with everything you need to know when you are first starting and make sure to send you all the advice you will be needing for that year.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

How friendly and easy going staff and students are.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

Lecturers that have came in that have worked for Ubisoft or other well-known games companies.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Habita (the bar) - Students' Union.

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

Course rep for two years running.

What is the best thing about your course?

The degree at the end, the people you meet and the things you learn.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

If you want to know something - go out and find it out for yourself, don't rely on others to help you!

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I want to work In the games industry.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I have done a little play testing for Thumbstar Games and Eutechnyx, which has given me an insight and the opportunity to meet new people.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

It's a great place to be, but if you're wanting to do well, stick your head in some books and don't be afraid to learn new things off your own back and most importantly don't be afraid to ask, that's what the lecturers are there for.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I've found I am good at leading teams and voicing my opinions across to people who might lack concentration.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Fun, friendly, achievable!
