Creative Community

Vibrant! Fun! Innovative! Not our words, but some of the words our students use to describe Northumbria's creative community here at Northumbria.

Studying a creative course at Northumbria immediately immerses you into our hustling bustling community. On campus you’ll find yourself discovering the best new creative talent at media screenings, design events, performances, and art exhibitions throughout the year and as part of our degree shows. Off campus you can Instagram your way around what Newcastle has to offer at cool hang outs like the Boiler Shop Steamer, Design Event Northeast, BALTIC 39, and High Bridge Festival.

Many of our creative students collaborate and you’ll often find a Performance student starring in a Media student’s film ‘short’ or a Fashion student in the 3D Design workshops.

You’ll also get involved in the wider creative network at Northumbria by working on inspirational live project briefs through collaborations with industry such as Nike, TopShop, Heals and Ryder Architecture.  Access to our creative partners such as Tyneside Cinema, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and Live Theatre, to name a few, will help give your creative career the edge. Opportunities for field study trips around the world to exciting destinations including New York, Berlin, Amsterdam and London during your studies will inspire your creative learning*.

Still not enough to tempt you? Then check out our Instagram, blogs and galleries below or discover our creative course pages for a more indepth look at our courses.

Joining our creative community could be the best thing to ever happen to your Instagram feed!
