HORIBA Foundation UK is a family based leading global company specialising in the design, manufacture and sale of cutting-edge analytical technology and measurement devices. This scholarship will award two students studying on one of the below programmes with £2,000 per year during their Undergraduate studies, to a total of £6,000*. The money can be used to enhance the overall university learning experience. As part of the scholarship offer, there will also be the offer of coaching/mentorship for the successful student and opportunities to visit HORIBA's UK facilities.

Founded in 1945, HORIBA is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan and in 2023 had global revenue of £1.5bn, generated from over 8,500 HORIBIArians working in 49 group companies across the world.
HORIBA Foundation UK is the sales and service support office covering the UK, Republic of Ireland and parts of Europe. It is based in Northampton with 200 employees. Combined with other HORIBA companies in the UK, approximately 10% of HORIBA's workforce is based in the UK.
The company serves a number of key markets - energy and environment, bio and healthcare, materials and semiconductors. It sells into industry (for research and development, quality control and manufacturing), government labs and academic institutions. It's core technologies are spectroscopy, infra-red analysis, gas/fluid flow control, particle measurement and liquid analysis.
Its internal motto is 'Joy and Fun' (in Japanese, Omoshiro okashiku), a philosophy developed by founder Masao Horiba. A lot of time is spent at work so this time should be enjoyable and stimulating. HORIBA Foundation UK remains a family company - its Chairman and group CEO is Atsushi Horiba, the son of the company's founder Masao.
