Sport Management

Sport-Management_Student_Stef-ParkerWhat appealed to you about Northumbria University / studying in Newcastle?

It was local, offered sports scholarships and had the course I wanted to do.

What was it about the course / subject area that particularly appealed?

I am interested in sport and the course offers varied and good job prospects.

What qualifications did you have?

A levels in Art, Biology and PE.

How did you feel during your first week at Northumbria?

A mixture of nervous and excited.

What do you like most about the course?

I like the resource management side and the opportunity to go on a work placement.

How do you get on with your tutors?

Really well.

Do you have the opportunity for any work placements during your course?

Yes – a nine week placement in March.

What do you do when you’re not studying?

Play tennis at a high level and train as much as I can. I am also a member of the dance society and gymnastics. Best things about Newcastle is the nightlife and having Whitley Bay nearby for a choice of nights out and the shops.

What’s your accommodation like?

I live at home.

What would you like to do when you graduate?

I am still unsure of what I want to do in the future, now interested in sport management.

Do you have any advice for anyone applying for your course, or for university in general?

I would have like to have known about the amount of reading involved (was unexpected) and to always be organised is the best advice.

What three words would you use to describe your time at Northumbria?

Life changing experience.
