It has no formal governance within the University, but annual reports are provided to the Faculty Pro Vice-Chancellor by the external chair member, which are then shared with the Deputy Vice Chancellor and other members of University Executive as appropriate.
The Board offers strategic advice and challenge as well as being a critical friend and sounding board to the Faculty Pro Vice-Chancellor. In particular the Board will advise on:
- Vision, Mission and Strategic direction – the development and delivery of strategic direction and the activity that supports this;
- Priority areas and topics – the development of new priority areas and opportunities, informing the development of strategy and plans for the School.
The Advisory Board comprises of a group of influential figures from the region, nationally and internationally who serve a minimum of a three year term. Membership is via a formal invitation by the Faculty Pro Vice-Chancellor and the Chair of the Board on the basis of their specific knowledge, expertise and networks.
