Our Alumni - Work For Us
Want to inspire the next generation of Northumbria Alumni?
Tell us how you are making an impact and how Northumbria helped you get to where are today.
To ensure we get footage which can be displayed across a range of digital platforms (ie our website, social media, mobile phones) please can you bear in mind the following when making your video:
- It would be great if you could film the video in your work place, or an interesting space which is relevant to your profession. If you work for a notable brand, you could even try and show their logo in the background. However, remember to film it somewhere quiet so there isn’t a lot of background noise!
- If you can’t film at your workplace, make sure you have a clear background behind you, such as a plain wall. Please do not film with a window behind you.
- For the best results, film in landscape format.
- Make sure you are filmed from at least the waist up. Sit so you are off to the side and have space to either your left or right. If you imagine your screen is split into three, the best spot would be on the line separating the second and third section.
- Don’t wear any obviously-branded clothing or stripes (these can create a strobe effect on screen).
- Try to look straight down the lens when you are talking and avoid any distractions such as other people behind the camera or looking at any notes
- Before and after each section please pause for 5 seconds and look at the camera without speaking. This helps us when we edit the film.
- Keep your phone/camera as stable as possible – you could use a tripod (if you have one) or prop it up against something to keep it steady
- Please do not edit your footage before sending it to us.
