Establishing an Armed Forces, Veteran and Military Research Network

Northumbria University

-

This event will bring together University colleagues who have research expertise relevant to the military and defence sector and to create a research network that can take a more strategic approach to engaging with this sector in a more coherent way.   We also intend to establish a steering group with representatives from as many departments as possible to take this work forward.

This event will:

•Outline the vision for the new research network.

•Illustrate examples of current research projects.

•Build understanding of current and future funding opportunities with DASA.

•Explore how this network might work in the next academic year to bring colleagues together from across departments and faculties.

•Develop a shared understanding of our collective expertise.

The event will run from 0945 to 1330 and will include lunch.  An agenda and further details will follow.  Attendance is flexible, so if you are only able to attend for part of the event or only for lunch, please still register as we are keen to maximise attendance.  You will be able to meet colleagues from across the University who are working in the Armed Forces, veteran and military research sector.

We look forward to meeting you and looking at how your research could contribute to this network.
