Cultural Partnerships

The North East of England is home to a world class arts and cultural scene that makes the region an exciting and vibrant place to live, work, study and visit. Some of the UK’s most successful, innovative and exciting cultural organisations are based here in the North East.

Northumbria University works in partnership with a range of outstanding cultural and creative organisations including BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Live Theatre, New Writing North, Tyneside Cinema, and Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.

We work with our partners to develop a collaborative programme of activities that:

  • Enhances learning, giving our students opportunities to benefit from collaboration with outstanding professional  artists and creative and cultural practitioners
  • Inspires new research, responding to the needs of cultural and creative organisations
  • Connects academic research and expertise with creative organisations to stimulate new ways of working
  • Create cultural collaborations that connect with the people of the North East
  • Promotes investment in skills, innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth
  • Ensure the cultural well-being of the region
