Tony Lewin

Tony Lewin PortraitTony has over 20 years of experience working in GFE colleges, 18 of those is Leadership and management roles.  Prior to his career in Education Tony’s first career was in 14 years in Local Government. 

Tony Joined NCG in 2015 as Principal of Newcastle College having previously been spent 6 years as Deputy Principal of an Outstanding College. During his time with NCG he has been part of the Executive Board leading on several strategic projects and working across the group including several years working in London.  Following a brief secondment from NCG, Tony returned to the role of Executive Principal and has responsibility several of the NCG colleges as well as leading on strategic areas across NCG. His education background is a BA in Business and MSc in Computer Systems, and he has served as a board member on school and other private companies.

Researchers from the University of Glasgow and Northumbria University have been awarded £2.5 million from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) to conduct evaluations of local government public health interventions.
