Dr Gillian Forster

Principal Lecturer/Teaching Fellow

Dr Gillian Forster is the Director of Enterprise and Engagement at Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

She also has extensive programme management experience, being involved with masters  programmes since 2003, and until recently she was Programme Director for all Masters programmes at NBS. She also teaches organisational analysis, management development and cross-cultural management and leads on postgraduate experiential learning activities.

Gillian joined NBS in 1993 following a number of years working in a variety of roles in the design profession, including events management, training and development, corporate sponsorship and public relations. Her main research interests are in the field of organisation studies, in particular organisation culture and international/cross-cultural management together with pedagogical developments relating to international students. Gillian has examined doctorates on trust, leadership in education, and emotional regulation.

"We have a core within all postgraduate business programs which enables students to develop the skills that organisations say they need to badly... they are developing their leadership skills, their team building skills, to be able to research so whats happening is they are achieving a set of objectives on top of the development of their subject knowledge"
