Our Alumni - Work For Us
Following graduation from The University of Glasgow and The Glasgow School of Art in Product Design Engineering and then a Masters in Computer Aided Product Development, I worked for a number of product and industrial design consultancies. I then went on to set up a product design and development company, design initiatives included consultancy work for a number of consumer, sports and healthcare clients.
Over the years I have also taken a number of my own products to market, from initial conception through to production and through the creation and development of the IP, I have been involved in the resulting commercial collaborations / spin out companies.
I am now a Senior Lecturer on Design for Industry and Transportation Design since September 2009.
An experienced industrial design practitioner, academic and researcher based at Northumbria University. His research and expertise is centred around on how design can help develop new tools and techniques to open up new opportunities within the global Curricular Economy.
A student of The University of Glasgow and The Glasgow School of Art, he developed his practice by working for a number of global companies before setting up his own product and industrial design consultancy working with a varied client base developing consumer, sports and healthcare products.
Over the years he have also been involved in a number of spin out companies taking his own products to market, from initial conception through to production, and the creation and development of the associated Intellectual Property. In 2009 he combined his commercial practice with a lecturing role on the Product Design (BA Hons) course based at the School of Design lecturing in industrial and product design.
