Callum Thomson

Callum Thomson joined Northumbria University in November 2018 as a Solicitor Tutor within the award-winning Student Law Office.  The law clinic offers advice and assistance to members of the public and he supervises students working on family law and private client cases.  He will be teaching fourth year students on the Probate and Administration module in the academic year 2019/2020.

Callum read for his degree at Northumbria University Law School and graduated from the MLaw (Exempting) course in June 2014.  He worked in private practice for four years, qualifying as a solicitor of the senior courts of England and Wales in March 2017.  Callum’s current research interests involve protecting the mental health of the child in Private Law Childcare Proceedings, as well as the need for empathy as a legal professional and how students can learn to empathise with clients.
