Dr Helen Watson

Assistant Professor

Department: Newcastle Business School

Helen is a professionally qualified accountant, and Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She enjoys teaching financial reporting and auditing. Her research interests include auditing, the public sector, and qualitative approaches to accounitng research.

Helen has fifteen years professional experience in audit. After qualifying with Deloitte and team leading public sector audits, she spent seven years in the Audit Commission’s national technical team supporting approximately 1,000 auditors tackling complex auditing, accounting, legal and governance issues.
