Assessment Regulations and Policies

The following regulations, policies and procedures apply to the assessment of all Northumbria University taught awards unless specific exceptions have been approved by the Education Committee, and Academic Board where appropriate.  These regulations and policies are designed to ensure that academic standards are maintained and that there is fairness and consistency in how student results are agreed.

Academic Regulations for Taught Awards (ARTA) are subject to annual review to ensure academic standards are maintained and that there is fairness and consistency in how student results are agreed. The changes for Academic Year 2022/23 are available below with clarity around which cohorts of students the updated regulations apply to.
