In line with the Statement of Intent published by the UK Standing Committee for Quality Assessment in May 2019, our Degree Outcomes Statement analyses Northumbria's degree classification profile. It also addresses how Northumbria delivers transparent, consistent and fair academic standards, in line with the Expectations of the Quality Code for Higher Education that relate to protecting the value of qualifications and the Office for Students' ongoing conditions of registration on academic standards (B4 and B5).

In addition to assessment and External Examiners protocols, the University has procedures for the approval and review of modules and programmes.

The Academic Regulations for Taught Awards (ARTA) are the standard regulations which apply to all the University’s academic programmes delivered in the UK or overseas (including under franchise arrangements), and by distance learning.
