Internships and Placements
How does it work?
This is a great opportunity for penultimate or final year students and recent graduates to get a paid internship and experience the working world. At the same time, SMEs benefit from university-educated employees and can gain bright-minded young people embarking on their future
As a student, how do I qualify and apply?
- The scheme is available to current students and alumni who have graduated within the last 2 years.
- If you fit this criteria, you’ll need an up-to-date CV including your field of study and all the skills and competencies you think you’ll need.
- Then, simply register your details at https://talent.santander.co.uk/
- If your application is successful, the university will contact you about the next steps in the selection process.
- If you get an internship, you’ll receive up to a £3,000 grant up to 10 weeks working at the SME up to (£1,500 is funded by Santander).
As an employer, how do I recruit and intern?
- Your company must have an annual turnover of less than £50 million and fewer than 250 employees.
- All types of industries can apply.
- Santander will contribute up to £1,500 per intern towards the internship period and you’ll need to match our contribution, as a minimum.
- To take part in the programme, simply register at https://talent.santander.co.uk/ and upload details of the opportunity.
- When a candidate matches your requirements, the university will contact you to go ahead with the selection process.
