Santander Universities

Santander Universities is a division of the Santander organisation aimed at supporting the communities in which it operates.

Northumbria University became a partner of Santander Universities Network in 2015. This partnership offers a range of benefits and opportunities to students, staff and alumni.

The partnership offers a range of benefits to students, staff and alumni which include:

Campus Branch

An on-campus branch, based in Northumbria Students’ Union on City Campus West, making banking easier for all students and staff.

Scholarships

Two types of scholarship are available through the Santander Universities partnership:

International Postgraduate Scholarships to encourage travel overseas, particularly to Latin American countries.

Mobility Scholarships for students or staff to travel to any of the 20 countries where Santander has a higher education partner.

Enterprise

Santander Universities support Northumbria students and graduate entrepreneurs as well as the small business community in the North East through a variety of competitions and awards, online resources and start up events. Last year Santander funded a Start-Up weekend in March, over 40 students attended the event across 3 days covering the lean start up methodology.

Placements and Internships

The Santander SME Internship programme 2017/2018 is open to all University of Northumbria students and graduates from 2016 and 2017. 

The internships are based with SME'S across a range of sectors. The duration of the internships will vary in length between 2-10 weeks.
