Journalism & Citizenship

Meet our staffOur academics in this cluster focus on international journalistic practice, global media institutions, gender and media and media citizenship. This has included work on changes in European media and the public sphere, on gender and media and on media and the Olympics.

The international focus of the group's research has been further developed by work on human rights journalism, particularly in the context of African media, and on the political and social contexts of contemporary Italian media.

PhD projects include media portrayals of rapid social change, women politicians and Ghana's print media and politics and social media use.
