Business Insights and Decision Making
Do you struggle to understand your data and how to interpret it in a meaningful way? Would you like to gain a better understanding of how to glean insights from your data to be able to harness the power of business intelligence?
This one-day introductory course is designed for managers who work with data daily and need to be able to investigate data in more detail. Be able to drill down into data and build insights to support the data-driven decision-making process.
The course will cover Data Fundamentals and an overview of how organisations consume and work with data. It will examine data tools and how to make an appropriate section for producing effective business insights. Finally, it will Introduce you to the use of a Business Intelligence Tool (Power B), giving you a practical introduction to using technology to harness the power of your data.
Giving you confidence in surfacing business insights without the need for a technical background. Furthermore, giving you the skills to be able to build on your understanding of what is available in your workplace and how it can be harnessed to help you start on your pathway towards better Business Insights.
Data-Driven Decision Making
The course will introduce you to the concepts of data-driven decision-making using Business Intelligence tools (Power BI). Data-driven decision making is now seen as a fundamental requirement to enable, managers, senior executives, and businesses to maximise their data in what is often an underutilised asset.
Throughout your course you will be an active participant in the on-going research agenda that is at the heart of Newcastle Business School. With conferences and research events regularly taking place, and with staff discussing their own research as it relates to the topics you will study, there is a strong emphasis on engaging in up-to-date enquiry-based learning.
