From the start, you’ll dive into the world of financial decision-making, using mathematical tools to tackle complex challenges. Whether you're deciphering market trends or optimising investment strategies, you'll build sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
As you progress, you will have the opportunity to apply advanced methods to real-world financial problems and examine topics such as investment strategies and risk management in financial institutions.
The final-year project lets you investigate a financial mathematics topic in depth, building your research and technical skills. Throughout your course, industry-relevant software and tools are available, including AI, to prepare for a range of careers or further study.
You will be encouraged to build a diverse skill set - from analytical thinking to AI and computing – providing a strong launchpad for a wide variety of career paths.
This extended degree provides an alternative route to higher education and supports those who don’t meet the standard entry requirements for an undergraduate degree. It includes a foundation year where you will enhance your knowledge and skills of core mathematics as well as of core physics and electrical engineering principles.
During your foundation year, you will develop fundamental research skills and independent learning skills through specialised and research-informed modules. You will build a broad range of mathematical and scientific competences addressing real-world problems and develop key employability skills that will prove invaluable when you enter the workplace.
Delivered in industry-leading facilities by our highly experienced team, you will be supported at every step to ensure an enjoyable experience that will enhance your learning and future employment prospects.
The foundation year of the course delivered at level 3 which develops your ability to study in Higher Education is not accredited. Subsequent levels and years are accredited and deliver the knowledge, competencies, and skills required to meet the specific course accreditation requirements that relate to the approved accredited award title.
UK Fee in Year 1: TBC
* This is the tuition fee for your first year of study. You should expect to pay tuition fees for every year of study. The University may increase fees in the second and subsequent years of your course at our discretion in line with any inflationary or other uplift, as decided by the UK Government, up to the maximum amount for fees permitted by UK law or regulation for that academic year. To give students an indication of the likely scale of any future increase, the UK government has recently suggested that increases may be linked to RPIX ( Retail Price Index excluding mortgage interest payments)
