Newcastle

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I love Newcastle, the people, the shopping areas, the night life, the tourist spots and facilities.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

Easy to commute anywhere, I found friendly folks easily and who were willing to help. The beach is my favourite place.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

It was amazing, couldnt have asked for a more welcoming service.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My friends, my tutor(s)

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

Some of the nurses i met through my training at northumbria

What is your favourite place on campus?

Canteen

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Organise your time. Ask for help- theres is always help.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I am able go adapt to situations and i am able to transfer these skills to many situations/areas.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

Yes my service improvement project. Where patients were encouraged to exercise, and staff made a timetable where they would put some time to one side everyday to supervise them and to open the gym. This has been maintained.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

It can be quite stressful, organise your time, starts essays early, ask for help! Go to tutorials!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

Strong, more caring and patient. Confident, good communicator.

Exciting stressful satisfying
