Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

It was the most appealing from the Open Days.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

It has the best night life and it holds the opportunity to meet a lot of different people.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes. Very welcoming especially on my course in terms of tutors being friendly.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Meeting new people and having independence whilst also being close to home.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Habita and The Zone.

What is the best thing about your course?

How it involves a lot of practical activities and site visits so that you can apply knowledge gained in class onto a real site.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Look through assignments as soon as you receive them and attempt them ASAP.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

Work in a managerial role on a construction site. Organisation, teamwork and  leadership skills. As well as gaining confidence trough te use of presentations in assessments.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

A site visit to Edinburgh. No placement until 3rd year

Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.

Yes, to Edinburgh. It was good for getting to know other members of the group and applying lessons to a real situation: Forth bridge construction.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Start assignments ASAP. Join sports teams to get to know more people.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I have gained more confidence due to presentations in lectures which has also helped me make new friends.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

A fulling Experience.

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Definetly!
