Postgraduate Research

Susan -ogwuThe research investigates the impact of mindsight on an individual’s ability to communicate effectively in a virtual space. The review of literature has shown that there are difficulties encountered while communicating in virtual spaces. People communicate with others from backgrounds that are different from their own and, because of that, problems of trust, cultural differences and inability to connect effectively with others arises. A gap in the knowledge-base has shown no evidence of the application of mindsight on communication in virtual spaces. To this end, a pilot case study of a virtual team was conducted through an action research. The level of communication in the virtual team was investigated after a mindsight intervention was introduced. The outcomes and findings show that mindsight might enhance communication in the virtual space. Hence more study will be carried out on a virtual collaborative research. This research will be valuable to organisational and business virtual communications.
