Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

A highly regarded university with a great reputation offering a wide selection of courses. Newcastle as a city is not too far to travel to visit friends and family in my home town of Carlisle.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I have frequently visited Newcastle when I was younger it is an amazing city to shop, eat and socialise.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

The warmth and welcoming attitude of anyone I have come into contact with whether it be my new work, peers at the University or making new friends.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes, it is a very friendly and positive place to do my degree. Staff and other students always happy to help with any queries. I found I fitted in easily from the first week!

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Growing and developing intellectually as well as a more positive and creative individual.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

Apart from reinforcement from family and friends back home I have made many close friends since September and we all support each other with both positive and negative situations.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

Seeing and studying the great research which is shown throughout our lectures and work of final year psychology students which we can all see ourselves conducting in a few short years.

What is your favourite place on campus?

The library. I first thought it would be my least favourite but I find it the easiest place to concentrate on doing work.

What is the best thing about your course?

Constantly acquiring new and fascinating information and skills.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

It is the best decision I have ever made. I know i am studying at the best possibly university for me, it is fun, friendly and fantastic! I am a happier, more positive person.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I have so much more energy and I have a greater outlook on everything I am doing. Everything outside of university is better including my work and socialising.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Cherished. Happiness. Knowledge.

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Yes.
