Medical Sciences Diploma

Why did you choose the Northumbria University and St George’s University International Medical Pathway?

I chose the International Medicine Pathway with Northumbria and SGU because I wanted to study at a good medical school overseas. It was recommended to me by a friend from India who is already studying on the same programme and is now in Grenada. When I graduate I will be the first person in my family to become a doctor.Manan -Singh _Medical -Sciences -Diploma _Staffprofile 255

What are the benefits of spending the first part of your programme with us here in Newcastle?

The Pathway Programme at Northumbria gives you the chance of studying and living in another country for part of your medical studies. At Northumbria you are on a large university campus and I love the diversity here, you get to meet students from all around the world. For trainee doctors this is really beneficial.

How do you relax when you are not in classes?

In my spare time I like playing football and just socialising. One of my favourite places is Jesmond Dene which is a beautiful park that is nice to go and visit. It’s also easy to travel to other places in the UK and in Europe. Over the summer vacation I visited Denmark and Sweden which was really nice.

Where if your favourite place on campus?

Probably the university library. Also I like the accommodation. I live in Winn Studios and this is where most of the medical students live.
