Building Opening Hours

Opening Hours from 17th May

Following the latest Government Guidance on 17th May, we are making a number of changes to building opening hours – this will mean that the majority of our buildings are now open (specific hours are set out below) and access to all buildings will be controlled by Smartcard access control in order to assist with Track and Trace requirements. General Building and Office Risk Assessment must be adhered to in terms of social distancing and the wearing of face coverings.

University colleagues should continue to work from home where possible, however it is acknowledged that there will be a growing need over the course of the summer for access to certain facilities and offices.  Academic colleagues who require access to offices should work with colleagues to manage attendance patterns to ensure that social distancing can be achieved.  Professional service colleagues should continue to seek approval from their Service Director before attending campus.

All students and staff on campus must adhere to social distancing guidelines, wear appropriate facial coverings, use the hand sanitisers available and take note of any signage and instructions on campus. You must not attend Campus if you are displaying Covid symptoms or feel unwell in any way.

If you are regularly coming onto campus you must book two LFTs every week (between three and five days apart), regardless of whether you’ve had Covid-19 in the last 90 days or have received a vaccine already. If you’re using the campus on a less regular basis, or you have been away for some time, you must ensure you have had two negative tests immediately prior to returning to campus.

All building users should also use SafeZone in order that Security can monitor building usage and be responsive where required. Please download SafeZone to your laptop or it can also be downloaded to mobile devices from Apple and Android stores.
