We know more than ever before about what helps people live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives. Yet a gap remains between what we know and what people actually experience, particularly at scale and across difference communities.
This lecture explores the human work required to bridge that gap and asks what happens when knowledge, decision-making and improvement become shared rather than owned by experts alone.
Biography - Visiting Professor Aimee Robson
Aimee Robson is Visiting Professor of Practice at Northumbria University and Deputy Director at NHS England, working across primary care improvement and system transformation. Clinically trained as a physiotherapist, her career has focused on one question: how does knowledge become real change for the people it is intended to serve?
Her work brings together evidence, improvement science and leadership, with a particular focus on the relationships, trust and shared understanding that enable people to make better decisions together.
She believes better outcomes are created collectively, not delivered by experts alone—and this lecture ends with a simple challenge: what should we stop doing because it no longer serves people well?
