International Motor Development Research Consortium (IMDRC)

-

This meeting of the I-MDRC UK & Ireland motor development group follows on from previous meetings. The aim of the meeting is to continue to develop collaborative work in the field of motor development, to facilitate new links, potential joint funding bids and presentation of work by researchers across all career stages.

Day 1 (24th February 2027)
An afternoon session in which researchers will be invited to engage with external collaborators from policy and practice, including physiotherapists, physical education teachers, sports coaches, local authority public health teams, and individuals with lived experience, who will set out their priorities related to motor development. Within the session, delegates will be able to select the priority of most interest to them and work with the stakeholder to co-design either a research project or a funding proposal. Tea and coffee will be available.
An optional game of rounders before an evening meal in Newcastle!

Day 2 (25th February 2027)
A full day event with a keynote presentation, researcher presentations, a tour of the labs, and collaboration pitches (a chance to work with Northumbria academics to develop research projects and/ or funding proposals related to the lab equipment available).
