3rd March 2015

Newcastle Business School senior lecturer Jenny Davidson has presented to an international audience of senior leaders at the inaugural Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group (ADSG’s) Sustainable Business Leadership Forum.

The event took place in Abu Dhabi between February 16 and 18 and attracted up to 400 senior level executives.

Experts and leaders from industries including aviation, finance, telecommunications and utilities shared insights and lessons to help develop cross-sector best practice in sustainability across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

With a strong a growing international reputation, Newcastle Business School was invited to act as academic research partner for the high profile conference. The School recently gained a double accreditation in business and accounting with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Dr. Davidson said: “Newcastle Business School is building a strong portfolio of research around sustainability and corporate responsibility, which is being recognised internationally. Being invited to this important conference as a discussion panel member and awards’ judge reflects this standing, and the value of our partnership with the ADSG.

“Levels of engagement and collaboration around sustainability= are high and growing in MENA. Part of my role now is to produce conference reports to position the work that has been done so far, and mapping out what needs to come next. This inaugural conference is an important step forward and I hope to continue our partnership with ADSG and the event organisers Sustainability to Action.

Sustainability to Action (STA) is a group of consultants and associates who are experts in business responsibility in the areas of sustainability, corporate responsibility, materiality, stakeholder engagement, communications and behaviour change through social engagement.
