E&E graduate wins national award in Nepal

A Northumbria graduate, Suman Dhun Shrestha been awarded with a National Award in his native Nepal after being named 'Outstanding Youth of Nation 2014' at the Nepal Jaycees National Convention.

The event which took place in December was addressed by the Prime Minister of Nepal.   Engineering and Environment graduate Suman, who studied Disaster Management and Sustainable Development MSc, is now Research Fellow at Kathmandu University, Nepal, at Building Stronger Universities (BSU II), School of Engineering.

The award was given to Suman in the field of Science and Technology where his work and research has focused on areas including recent work on bio-gas electrification at Kathmandu University and previous research at Northumbria University, including Waste Action Reuse Portal - WARPit at North Tyneside Council and Water flow regulation model study (MSc dissertation research at Northumbria, working with Durham Wildlife Trust, 2013).
