Teach the Nation to Code: Databases

Northumbria University is once again teaming up with IT training company QA Consulting to deliver a free computer programming session as part of the Institute of Coding (IoC).

With a current skills gap for coding and coders in the tech sector, Northumbria has previously hosted two other workshops as part of this series. The free training aims to inspire those people currently underrepresented in the tech sector, and promote a career in technology to everyone.

The IoC launched last year, with Northumbria working alongside other universities and industrial partners to develop the next generation of digital talent at degree level and above.

The coding sessions have so far been a great success, teaching attendants how to install the Python programming language and explore its other features and functions. The most recent event took place last month and saw learners of all ages and abilities in attendance.

The latest Teach the Nation to Code event will focus on Databases and take place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April in Ellison Building, Block A Room ELB 0001. To book your place click here.
