Dr Jie Ma

Senior Lecturer

Department: Newcastle Business School

Jie is a senior lecturer in Operations Management and the programme leader for the top-up BA (Hons) Business and Business with International Management degree programmes. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in computing and a MA degree in management from Durham University Business School. Jie received his PhD in operations management from the Newcastle University.

Jie has a broad research interest in operations management and supply chain management. He is particularly interested in lean and agile implementation in the automotive industry. One of his other research interests is long-term and sustainable improvements in manufacturing and the hotel industry. His publications and conference proceedings are about Lean transformation, shop floor management and continuous improvement.

Jie likes cars, enjoys playing basketball and cycling.
