Santander Universities

Santander Universities is a division of the Santander organisation aimed at supporting the communities in which it operates.

Since 2015, our partnership with Santander Universities UK has delivered a wide range of benefits to Northumbria University students.

Northumbria University, in partnership with Santander Universities, are offering the opportunity for students to carry out an International Virtual Internship in the academic year 2023-24

The scholarship to cover administrative costs* for a one-semester online internship organised by our partner Virtual Internships (https://www.virtualinternships.com) will be awarded to applicants based on academic and employability merit. 

Requirements 

You must be a Northumbria student in the academic year 2023-24

Full-time and part-time students 

Undergraduate and postgraduate students 

You must meet one of the following WP characteristics: 

Low participation neighbourhoods 

Mature students 

Black, Asian and minority ethnic students 

Low income backgrounds 

Disabled students 

Care-leavers 

Carers 

Estranged students 

Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities 

Female students into STEM

State school students (from schools with below average attainment) 

Commuter students 

Children from military families 

First generation students 

 

You must have a good academic standing (be on track for a minimum 2:1) 

You must commit to the programmes once the offer is accepted. 

Scholarships must be returned if you withdraw from the programme.
