Facilities

Northumbria Language Centre has a number of specially designed spaces for students to study independently and in comfort with world-class facilities and resources.

The Language Zone is located in the City Campus Library. It contains language learning resources for students learning English or for those studying Modern Foreign Languages, such as:

  • Books for general language, grammar, pronunciation, speaking and study skills.
  • Video/DVD collection covering culture, history and films in different languages.
  • PCs set up to access IPTV - here you will find:

- Live Satelite TV channels in the following languages : Chinese, English, French, German,
  Italian, Japanese and Spanish

- VoD (Video on Demand) collection covering culture, history and films in different
  languages. RSS feeds in Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish

  • A collaborative table and technology for group work
  • Specialist Sanako software for language learning.

In addition to the The Language Zone, we also have four PC language labs in the University that are dedicated to language teaching, with world-class facilities and software to complement your learning.
