Research with the UK LGBT+ Veteran Community Conference 2023
The Northern Hub for Veterans and Military Families Research in partnership with Fighting With Pride are hosting the first annual conference on research with UK LGBT+ Veterans. The aim of this conference is to bring together academics, the health and social care sector, local government, charities, the LGBT+ community and veterans to focus on the past, present day and future of LGBT+ veterans and their experiences during and after military service.

There will be plenty of networking opportunities at the conference, anyone who would also like to register their interest to have a stand to promote their work, please get in touch with Dr Gill McGill. Please bring along leaflets and promotional information of your service or organisation, we will provide a table to display these.
We are seeking submissions for oral and poster presentations with a focus on the past, present day and future of LGBT+ veterans and their experiences during and after military service. Some suggested general areas of work include Language, Camouflage, Identity, Overcoming Adversity, Health and Social Well-Being, and Impact – Evidence-Based Practice.
The abstract proposal should explain the topic of your presentation (max 250 words).
Please also indicate the preferred type of presentation: oral or poster. The following information should be submitted for the presenter(s): first name, last name, job role, organisation, e-mail address. If your abstract is accepted, you will be asked to submit a brief biographical statement for the book of abstracts.
