The Football and Sports Leadership Programme will be crafted and delivered by UEFA-qualified coaches across St. James’ Park, Newcastle United Training Ground or other Newcastle United approved locations. Here is what you can expect from the programme:

YOUR ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for this programme, you must be enrolled or have an offer to study at Northumbria University. If you wish to study here at Northumbria, take a look at the courses on our website and use the form below to register your interest.
Please note, the Football and Sports Leadership Programme is offered and delivered by Newcastle United as an extracurricular activity, therefore the programme fee of £12,000 is additional to any tuition fees or costs associated with your academic programme.

No. The Football and Sports Leadership programme is open to students from all study levels at Northumbria (including Undergraduate and Postgraduate) studying any course subject.
The main premise of the programme is to develop your leadership and coaching skills, with a large portion involving football training and coaching, therefore having an interest in the sport is key.
The coaching is designed to accommodate all levels of ability and performance, and participants will experience tailored guidance and support.
If you are an incoming i2i International Soccer Academy student-athlete, the nature of your professional soccer development programme with i2i means you are ineligible to partake in the Football and Sports Leadership Programme.
