Applying via an Education Agent
Tips, Feedback and Finding an Education Agent
Northumbria University works with over 150 official Education Agents and Counsellors worldwide, who support international students looking to study in the UK.
Northumbria has entered into a commercial arrangement with these Education Agents, who act as our official representatives. They are contracted to help prospective students choose a course, submit an application, find accommodation, and apply for a visa as appropriate. If you enrol with us, we pay the Education Agent a commission or fee.
We invest significantly in training and supporting the Agents we work with to ensure you receive the best possible guidance. We strongly encourage you to use the Education Agents Search to ensure you're being supported by an official representative of Northumbria University.
Our Education Agents Can:
- Help you choose the University and course that are right for you.
- Provide information and advice about our courses and scholarships.
- Advise you on entry requirements, application processes and deadlines.
- Follow up on your application to study with us.
- Contact the University on your behalf.
- Assist with your visa application, accommodation options and other study preparations.
Education Agents cannot make offers on behalf of Northumbria. All admissions decisions are made by the University directly.
When working with one of our Education Agents, please be aware that tuition fees and deposits should be made directly to the University by following the instructions set out in your offer letter. You should never make these payments, or any other payment of services, to an Education Agent or any other representative.
Education Agent Standards and Expectations
We set high standards and expectations for our Education Agents, which they must adhere to when working with prospective students. We are committed to the UK Agent Quality Framework (AQF) and pledge to maintain the highest standards of agent management, ensuring the UK remains a leading study destination for international students, including:
- Empowering student choice and enabling informed decision making.
- Ensuring good agent governance and professionalism.
- Promoting ethical agent practices, professional knowledge and competency.
- Increasing transparency and accountability.
For more details of our Education Agent standards and expectations, please refer to the Education Agent Terms and Conditions.
