This page can also help find the right Intern Group programme for you. Northumbria students can choose between a 6 week internship, or a blended programme that combines remote work with 4 weeks in country placement.

 

Application deadline:

The deadline for this programme is 16th February at midday.

Successful applicants will have to pay their deposit to The Intern Group by 16th March, please make sure you have sufficient funds for the deposit.

 

When: 

Start dates are available every month of the year. Students are encouraged to apply 3-6 months in advance of their intended start date in order to secure their spot.

The internship must be completed by August 31st to be eligible for the full amount of funding.

 

Funding available:

6 week internship:

There are three grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria:

Living cost grant: £882

Travel grant: up to £905

Additional costs: up to £40 this supports payment towards buying/renewing a passport, travel insurance and vaccinations 

For those who do not meet any of the criteria there is a grant of £714 available.

 

4 week blended programme:

There are three grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria:

Living cost grant: £588

Travel grant: up to £905

Additional costs: up to £40 this supports payment towards buying/renewing a passport, travel insurance and vaccinations 

For those who do not meet any of the criteria there is a grant of £476 available.

 

Students who are not accepted for funding can still participate in the programme and be covered by the university's insurance

 

Programme fee: 

The programme cost for the 6 week internship is $4,300 for June-July start dates or $3,900 for August-May start dates, including a deposit of £800.

The programme cost for the blended programme is $3,790.
