The University has a long history of accepting Sri Lankan students onto its degree programmes; examples in recent years include Architecture, Biomedical Science, Built Environment, Business, Chemistry, Design, Electrical And Electronic Engineering, Fashion, Finance, Management and many more.

Although some courses have specific requirements for entry, Northumbria will consider any qualification for entry to its courses.

IFP General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) 75% / A / Distinction
General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) May be considered if entry requirements for target course are not met. Applications will be evaluated on a case by case basis
1st Year Undergraduate General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) As per course A Level requirements
National Certificate 65% / B / Very Good Pass
Postgraduate Programmes Bachelor General Degree B+ / 3.3 / Second Upper
Bachelor Special Degree / Professional Degree B / 3.0 / Second Lower for courses requiring a 2:2

B+ / 3.3 / Second Upper for courses requiring a 2:1
Graduate Certificate Bachelor General Degree C+ / 2.3 / Pass
Bachelor Special Degree / Professional Degree C / 2.0 / Pass
