IMPACT CASE STUDIES

We are proud of the difference the knowledge we create through our research makes to the world, benefitting individuals, communities, and the economy. 84% of Northumbria's 80 impact case studies submitted to REF2021 are outstanding or very considerable (4 or 3*) measured by their reach and significance. Northumbria is contributing to overcoming some of the most enduring challenges facing humanity and the planet's future, from understanding the impacts of climate change to contributing to debates about what it means to be human. Through excellent research, teaching, and innovation we transform lives, making a powerful contribution to cultural and economic development and regeneration, locally, nationally, and globally.
