Publishing for Impact

Thursday 11th December 10-12am, Room CCE1-218

The aim of this event is to identify ways to improve the reach and visibility of your research and to maximise the value of international networks and collaboration in your publication strategies. We are all feeling the pressure to publish at 3/4* level, but there are many different ways to achieve it.

  • The workshop will include:
  • Understanding what 3* and 4* means in REF terms
  • Tips from journal reviewers and Editorial Board members
  • A session on “writing a 4* abstract” (even if it’s only a 1* paper!)
  • Discussions about effective ways of working with international co-authors

*Please bring a paper-in-progress for the abstract writing exercise
