Public Policy

Meet our staffOur academics in this area explore different areas of public governance, public policy and public services management.  Issues are investigated from a variety of different disciplinary sub-fields including political science, public management and public policy but a focus on "public service" remains at the heart of all activity. The ultimate aim of the research is to provide an evidence base that impacts upon the effective delivery of public services and improves public policy formulation.

Research projects include: the shift from regionalism to localism in England post 2010; participatory approaches to community-based research; empowerment and the role of faith communities; applying resilience theory to public policy and management; and studies of EU governance and international leadership.
