Meet our staffThe study of inequalities and their impact on society is a key focus of research in this area.  Academics also analyse the changing nature of civil society, and the role that active citizens can play in a more inclusive society.

Projects include research on: volunteering, philanthropy; the voluntary and community sector; demography and ageing; disability; child welfare; the sexualisation of young people; homelessness and the inclusion of young people; and women's activism in traditional industrial communities.
