Aziz Foundation Scholarships - Applications open on the 15 January

Northumbria University is pleased to work in conjunction with The Aziz Foundation to offer The Aziz Foundation Scholarships for September 2024 entry.

The Aziz Foundation is a family charitable foundation established to nurture confident, articulate public leaders of Muslim background who are able to critically engage with public narratives and address the social challenges facing British Muslim communities and wider society. Their guiding philosophy and key principle of operation is to support British Muslims to bring positive change to their communities and beyond.  The Aziz Foundation offers Masters scholarships to British Muslims, enabling them, in partnership with UK universities, to progress in their career.

The Aziz Foundation Scholarships are open to British Muslims who wish to study a one year Full-Time Postgraduate course at Northumbria University.

Applications are made directly to the Aziz Foundation.  There are two application cycles; dates of which can be found via the website.  The Foundation will shortlist, interview, and make offers according to its selection criteria.

  • Applications for the Masters course are made directly to Northumbria University who will make offers according to its admissions procedure
  • The terms of the University Offer Letter will apply should you withdraw from your course i.e Fee Liability
  • The scholarship will apply to Newcastle Upon Tyne campus applications only
  • Students who apply for a Part-Time or Distance Learning programme are not eligible
  • The granting of a scholarship does not imply to the candidate that it includes an offer of a place at the University.  The application to the University will have to be made in the normal way. Similarly, the offer of a place at the University does not imply to the candidate that this includes the scholarship
  • Should the Foundation withdraw the scholarship, students will be liable for fees
  • For more information about the programme, contact sue.vout@northumbria.ac.uk

For more information please visit the Aziz Foundation website.  Please note that Aziz Foundation scholarships are only open to those who qualify for Home Fees status in the UK, and applications from International students will therefore not be considered.

The London Pass Education Scholarship by Go City

Go City believe everyone deserves the chance to enjoy the best experiences a city has to offer but not all experiences are easily affordable on a student budget. Living costs are rising and so are the costs of books, tuition fees and expenses. For this reason, Go City wants to help students who are enrolled at a college or university in the U.K. by offering the chance to visit major attractions in London for free, while providing a one-time £3,000 academic scholarship award to put towards all those University musts.

The Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust Bursaries

The Leverhulme Trade Charities Trustees are offering bursaries to Full-Time Postgraduate students at UK Higher Education institutions.  If your parent or spouse is a grocer, pharmacist or commercial traveller, or you are employed yourself in this capacity, you could qualify for a bursary of up to £5,000 per year towards the cost of an Postgraduate degree (should your degree be longer than one year)

Open to students who are:

  • A UK/Home applicant - This includes students domiciled in Jersey, Guernsey, The Channel Islands, Ireland, and Isle of Man
  • Studying for a Full-Time Postgraduate degree at a recognised UK university.
  • The child, spouse, widow, widower or personally employed as a commercial traveller, pharmacist, or grocer.
  • In ‘financial need’.

Funds are intended to alleviate financial hardship, by supporting maintenance, tuition and examination fees, travel costs, study materials or accommodation etc. Applicants must provide justification for their reasons for applying.

The maximum value of any bursary is £5,000 per annum for Postgraduates (should your degree be longer than one year) The sum awarded will be adjusted according to individual circumstances, needs and the funds available.

The continuation of a bursary is dependent upon the student continuing their Full-Time registration, satisfactory academic performance, and there being no material change in the recipient's financial circumstances.

Students selected will not be eligible for any other scholarships during the period of the award.

Further information and application forms are available on the LeverhulmeTrade Charities Trust website.
