Ulumma Yvonne Agbarakwe

Ulumma -Yvonne -Agbarakwe _Student _Master -of -Public -HealthWhere are you from?

Nigeria.

What qualifications do you have?

My Bachelor’s degree was in Microbiology.

Why did you choose the course?

I chose to study Public Health because I wanted a new career path and to stand out in my field. I have always wanted to study medicine and surgery, but I discovered there is more to illness prevention and treatment than at the individual level.

What appealed to you about Northumbria and studying in Newcastle?

I saw a video about the University and it looked very beautiful. I checked out the city of Newcastle online to see what it had to offer to students and I knew I would never get bored while studying here.

What are the best things about Newcastle for students?

Newcastle is the perfect city for student life. You get fantastic access to all the
designer shops. You also have great clubs if you want to relax with friends on a
weekend.

Favourite thing about University?

The varied culture. Since I started my course, I have been priviledged to meet students from all over. The interesting thing is that each person has an interesting story to tell especially about their work and their career.

What do you like most about the course?

I love the fact that the lecturers always take their time to explain things to you and are never in a rush.
