Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?
I chose Northumbria University as it was highly recommended by the NHS trust where I worked also it was close to home.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
Newcastle is an amazing city, full of culture, modern art and fantastic place to socialise day and night.
What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?
I have lived near Newcastle since 1994 and I still love the feeling of going to the city, great shopping, great restaurants and lovely people.
Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
It was a daunting experience going back to education after 21years however the staff and former students at the university made me so welcome and were very friendly.
What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?
I have made friends for life at university. I loved the fact that my course was made up of both practical and academic experiences. The staff have gone out of their way to help me throughout the years that I have studied at Northumbria University.
Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?
My Guidance Tutor Group are more like a family. We always help each other, the support and encouragement has been amazing. Student Services have also been great support when I have needed them. Last of all the Staff at all levels are always happy to help. I am going to miss them all.
What is your favourite place on campus?
Student union, you can take your own food and enjoy resting on the comfortable seating areas. There's lots of computers so you can study or check timetables etc. The Student Union Staff are always available to help if necessary. It's a great place to catch up with other students.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
Not to leave assignments until the last minute and to ask for help as it is always available.
What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?
