Alnwick, Northumberland

Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

Because personally I believe it is the best university for my chosen course. 

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Newcastle has a lot to offer to young people including shopping, cinema, bowling, great local bars and clubs and lovely scenery and history.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

The nightlife is impressive however the people who live within Newcastle are very friendly and easy to get along with.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes all of the staff and other students were very welcoming I felt at ease straight away.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Starting the course. The university offers so many facilities to help you to achieve your potential whilst on the course. For example, the library.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My GT is always there if I need to talk to someone, she always makes herself available to help others.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

Most of the lecturers have very interesting backgrounds about their nursing careers which have inspired me to do well in my career.

What is your favourite place on campus?

The library

What is the best thing about your course?

The course subject is crucial in relation to learning however it allows you to relax and have a laugh.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

At the moment we are focussing on communication which is extremely important when working within a healthcare setting.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I want to be an adult nurse. My communication skills have developed to an advantage by meeting new people of the course.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Northumbria offers a wide range of courses which deliver exceptional results. All of the staff are lovely and treat you like an adult.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

My confidence has grown when talking to new people and I have more self awareness.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Totally worth it!
